Beauty and the Beast Broadway OST - 07 - Home

Home is a song from Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. In the song, Belle sacrificed her freedom for her father's and is prisoner to the Beast(whom she falls in love with later). He sends her to her room and tells her to come to dine with him. From here, Belle becomes homesick quickly and is trying to adjust to her new life. It was featured in "MCF: The Pumpkin Singer" sung by Bella who quickly becomes homesick after learning that her then-love interest Jacko has taken her from her palace home in Cartoon Town to Chalkzone and plans to marry her and she refuses, remembering Tricia's rule to not marry someone she met.

Lyrics Edit

Belle: Yes, I made the choice For papa, I will stay But I don't deserve to lose my freedom in this way You monster! If you think that what you've done is right, well then You're a fool! Think again!

Is this home? Is this where I should learn to be happy? Never dreamed That a home could be dark and cold I was told Ev'ry day in my childhood: Even when we grow old Home should be where the heart is Never were words so true! My heart's far, far away Home is too

Is this home Is this what I must learn to believe in Try to find Something good in this tragic place Just in case I should stay here forever Held in this empty place Oh, but that won't be easy I know the reason why My heart's far, far away Home's alike

What I'd give to return To the life that I knew lately But I know that I can't Solve my problems going by

Is this home? Am I here for a day or forever? Shut away From the world until who knows when Oh, but then As my life has been altered once It can change again Build higher walls around me Change ev'ry lock and key Nothing lasts, nothing holds All of me My heart's far, far away Home and free!

Trivia Edit

  • This is the first BATB Broadway song to be sung by a MCF member, aka Bella in a case that relates to the story which in turn is a plot reference to Beauty and the Beast with hints of The Phantom of the Opera.
  • Sometimes the lyrics "But I know that I can't solve my problems going back", would change to "And to think I complained of that dull provincial town" depending on the stage production.

Singers Edit

  • Belle(Beauty and the Beast on Broadway)
  • Bella(MCF: The Pumpkin Singer)
